CSE December 09 Sunflower Times Update

As the holiday season unfolds, we want to let you know about some great events coming up at our Center!

December 13: "Getting to Know Your Spirit Guides” – Tom Newman will conduct this workshop starting at 1:00pm. Learn specific communication techniques that will help you to develop stronger links with your Spirit Guides! See a complete list of details for this course and RSVP on our website: www.theCSE.org

December 20: Holiday Devotional Service & Fellowship Meal – Join us for our Sunday morning devotional service that will include wonderful holiday music and songs! There will also be a special fellowship with many delicious dishes. We invite you to bring your favorite dish and share this meal as we celebrate the holiday season. Everyone is welcome to attend! Contact Rita O’Connor with the dish you’d like to contribute at finder912@earthlink.net.

December 22: Evening Candlelight Holiday Service: – 7:30 p.m. This is our annual holiday evening filled with special musical performances! We look forward to joining with each of you during this festive once a year gathering!

December 31: New Year’s Eve “Watch Night” – Businesses within the City of Falls Church host family-friendly, free events to ring in the New Year with activities that include storytellers, live music, face painting, etc. CSE is looking for a few volunteers to help keep the coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies flowing! Bring your kids and invite your friends!

January 8: Gallery Evening and Book Signing – Reverend Anne Gehman will conduct a gallery for message bearing and participants will also be able to ask questions during a Q and A session. Afterward, Rev. Gehman and Dr. Wayne Knoll will be available to sign their book, “The Priest and the Medium.”

January 10 - Right Hand of Fellowship Ceremony: New CSE members will be honored with a traditional ceremony during our morning devotional service. If you are considering joining CSE, contact a Board member, Minister or email/call our church so that we can include you in this memorable ceremony. Your application must be received and processed this month in order to participate on January 10.

January 15: Spiritual Book Club and Discussions – Our next book is “The Seat of the Soul” by Gary Zukav. Pick up the book now, so you will be ready to share your insights after the holidays!

January 24, 2010: Our Daily Bread Program – CSE has offered to help 15 families by collecting money and then buying grocery cards, which are mailed or delivered to the families. Our goal this year is $1,200 and 100% of your donation goes directly to helping the families. Make checks to CSE, with “ODB” in the memo line and mail them in or deposit in the designated ODB box at CSE.

The next CSE board meeting will be held Friday, December 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the CSE building. The board meetings are open to all CSE members. Send any suggestions Shelly Wooldridge, CSE Board President at shelly.wooldridge@gmail.com so that they can be introduced at the meeting.

Holiday Decorating: We have beautiful decorations for our church and need your help in dressing up our church for the holidays! If you can hang an ornament or garland, sing a carol for moral support call or email the church to let us know you can join in! We will be setting a time to decorate soon!

Talent for Holiday Services: If you have a musical talent and would like to sing or play your favorite instrument for one of our holiday services, please contact Rita O’Connor, Shelia Cash or Elois King.
